Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookie, the Girl Scout Dupe, is Back at Aldi!

Benton's Lemon Shortbread Cookies

When it comes to launching dupes, Aldi brings its A game. Over the years, Aldi has produced dupe versions of various branded products. The best among them is that they nail it when it comes to food and lifestyle products.

If you love cookies and also enjoy tart-flavored items, this Aldi Find of Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookie may be your next favorite.

Benton is not another brand, but it is a private label owned by Aldi. Their Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookies are irresistible and definitely a dupe of Girl Scout Lemonades.

As a kid, I was obsessed with classic finger shortbreads. But this was my first time trying lemon-flavored shortbreads, and I was keen to know how they tasted.

Let me tell you more about Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookie, and then you can decide whether it is a good deal.

Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookie

The Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookie is available in Week’s Aldi Finds from 07/03/2024 and is priced at $1.89.

As said earlier, I used to love shortbread cookies as a kid, but sometimes you grow out of certain habits and the same happened to me.

But while going through the middle aisles of the Aldi section last evening, I came across Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookie and nostalgia hit me hard. I was taken back to my childhood. I couldn’t resist and bought two packs of Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookie.

The Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookie comes in an ocre-colored packaging, and all the necessary details can be found on the packaging itself, but two specific mentions caught my eye.

The calorie intake per 2 cookies is 150 calories, which is helpful for many people in many different ways. I also liked how they mentioned that both natural and artificial flavors have been used. Honesty is appreciated rather than a white lie.

Another great thing about Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookie is that it is completely kosher-friendly. I respect a brand that provides proper information to cater to a variety of customers.

All this will be in vain if the taste isn’t good enough. Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookie is a knockoff of Girl Scout’s Lemonade cookies, and I am a big fan of them.

I genuinely liked the taste of Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookie. The zest of the cookies is nice. It might be a little tart for some people but is also sweet at the time. I really enjoyed the taste, but I won’t be able to consume more than 2,3 at the time. Nonetheless, I was pretty impressed with the flavor.

You will usually find such food-related Aldi Finds in the middle aisle. They come once or twice a year. If you enjoy eating Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookies or want to try them out for the first time, you must rush to your nearest aisle.

They are affordable and tasty but also for a limited period—a deadly combination.

Do you think your taste buds can tolerate the tart and sweet combination of Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookie? Let me know in the comments.

Other Alternatives to Lemon Shortbread Cookies

The Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookie is amazing, but the unfortunate part is that Aldi only brings them in the aisle twice or thrice a year. This means all the Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookies will be sold out soon.

If you cannot find  Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookies, I have mentioned some interesting alternatives.

The first exciting alternative I found was the Shortbread House of Edinburgh’s Lemon Biscuit. The nutrition facts per 2 biscuits include 210 calories, 1g dietary fiber, and 2g protein. The packaging is beautiful. Hence, it can be used as a gift for an event.

Another affordable alternative is Archway Frosty Lemon Soft Cookies, which come in a pack of 3. They have the freshest lemon smell and seem quite authentic. The cream and red packaging is very cute, and the cookies taste heavenly.

Is it a Good Deal?

Yes! Benton’s Lemon Shortbread Cookies are some of the best-packaged cookies I have tasted. They taste nice and are pretty affordable. I swear I bought two boxes and wish I had bought a few more packets. As they are cheap and available for a limited amount of time, if you are interested, you should rush to your nearest Aldi.
