15 Reasons Why Aldi is My Fav Store
Day-to-day grocery shopping can be overwhelming because of the near-endless online and offline options.
After several years of shopping for my own family, I finally found a less intimidating store called Aldi. I will tell you why Aldi is my favorite store for grocery shopping and home and kitchen appliances.
It has been a habit of mine to go grocery shopping with my parents since childhood, and the best part was it wasn’t forced. I was naturally inclined, maybe because you get to buy all your favorite products.
But when you grow up and/or move out, you have to handle your cooking, do all errands on your own, manage your family, and all this within a budget. The joy of shopping starts to steepen down.
But what if I told you there is a store that is not overbearing, is simple, and can naturally assist you in maintaining your budget? Who am I kidding? You have already read the title.
Before knowing why Aldi is my favorite store, here is a little information and context about Aldi.
Aldi is a German Company that is part of a conglomerate that also operates Trader Joe’s. It originated in Germany and abides by certain German shopping ethics and customs.
Aldi sells at affordable prices because its stores are usually smaller than US standards, hence less maintenance. The biggest reason is that the products are available in limited quantities, which allows them to sell at lower prices.
Let’s get straight into it:
Good Quality Food Products
The quality and taste of food matter the most in any store you’re shopping from. It wouldn’t have worked if food weren’t freshly sold at Aldi.
Most food items taste nice and are available in sufficient quantities. The quality-to-price ratio seems reasonable in many instances.
Availability of Organic Products
You must be wondering how I’m so confident about the quality of food at Aldi. This is because you can find a variety of organic products that come up early or weekly.
You can find fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products, different types of milk, and poultry products. Because everything is available in a limited quantity, you can find these fresh products at lower prices than other stores.
Vegan and Vegetarian Options
If you follow a vegan or vegetarian diet regimen and are looking for an affordable store for your grocery shopping, I bet you should go to Aldi.
Aldi offers both packaged and unpackaged options. My favorite items are veggie party burgers, various hummus, and different types of nut milk.
Return Policy
Every store has a return policy, but you know what a headache it can be to return products at certain stores.
But the same cannot be said for Aldi.
Aldi’s return policy is quite effective. If you don’t like the product you bought, just keep your bill with you, and they will refund the amount.
No Coupons
Aldi is a store known for selling indie and private-label products. It does not sell products of any specific brand, so it does not accept coupons.
However, I have a secret trick for getting free $100 gift cards. Read it, apply, and the gift cards will be delivered to your doorstep.
But the prices at Aldi are already so economical that you won’t find the need to spend your precious time collecting coupons to save a few bucks.
If you can find products at lower prices, why waste time on coupons, would you?
Seasonal Products
At Aldi, you can find a wide variety of seasonal products, including gift items, clothing, candy, fruits, and many more, depending on the season and occasion.
You can find a huge collection of gingerbread houses, Christmas-themed candies, cookies, gifting items and cakes during Christmas. Also, you can find Christmas-themed clothing and Halloween themed outfits.
During Valentine’s Week, many gift items are available, as are fruits such as mangoes or watermelon when in season.
Aldi Finds
One of my favorite reasons has to be the weekly Aldi finds that Aldi circulates each Wednesday. You can find a variety of clothing, kitchenware, household items, food products, travel items, luxury products, and so on at ridiculously cheap prices.
These products are available in even smaller quantities than the usual products and for only a limited period. Once sold out, one cannot know when they will come back.
And, don’t worry, most of these Aldi Finds are of good quality for their price and work well.
Simply Nature Products
Simply Nature foods are free of artificial ingredients and preservatives. This line is a great way to acquire fresh fruits and vegetables, and the best part is that you can get all this at a very affordable price.
Practical Product and Packaging design
The packaging of Aldi products is convenient and reusable. What do I mean by that? The purpose of these packaging doesn’t stop till we unbox them but continues even when we start using them or later.
You can see these soda bottles online are available for $25.99 and the one Aldi sells the flavored soda is for $3.19. You can simply reuse Aldi soda bottles to make your soda at home. Bravo!!! we get soda as well as soda glass bottle to reuse later for $3.19 only.
This is the case with most of the products, with a few exceptions, such as packaged food. For example, the chicken bag or the nugget bag can be reclosed. This will ensure that the products are not simply wasted and that you get the total value of your money.
Kind Employees
You might be thinking, how can I assume this fact just with the interaction of a few employees at one branch? You are correct.
I shifted to three cities and visited several Aldi branches in these places. Every time, I found the employees talking with patience and respect. If you are new at Aldi, they will patiently explain the process, not in a petty way.
Relatively Smaller Stores
At first glance, having smaller stores seems to be a downside, but it is one of the biggest upsides of all. When you visit giant stores with tons of products and varieties in each aisle, you tend to purchase more than you had decided.
Smaller stores have fewer aisles, so you’ll find your products sooner and save time. You won’t randomly splurge. Lastly, because the store is smaller, the management will require less staff, resulting in lower product prices.
Proper instruction and ingredient information
One of my other favorite reasons for shopping at Aldi is that the ingredient list is honest and sensible. For example, if a product has artificial flavors, they’re mentioned on the front of the packaging and not hidden in the fine print.
Not everything that is artificial is bad, but it’s necessary that the customer is aware of it. The product is mentioned if it’s friendly to a variety of diets and religious beliefs. For example, if the product is Kosher friendly, it is mentioned.
A store or a brand that is transparent about the ingredients is always appreciated.
International and Regional foods
Thanks to Aldi, I have tasted a variety of European fast food items and their delicacies. I have tried their hummus and the classic shortbreads, and I love them!
I find these products in regular aisles and in Aldi find listings. Also there is a special German week where you can see a bunch German food items. You just need to keep a keen eye on these food items and delicacies.
Recycling Information on the packaging.
It is a small detail, but it shows this company’s value. The company’s aim to be environmentally aware and responsible will always win the hearts of aware customers.
They always have innovative products and also provide information about how to properly recycle the packaging and any other residue left behind by the product.
The information about which item will be dispatched in which way is mentioned correctly. It is the customer’s duty to follow the instructions correctly, but this is a good step on the store’s part.
Instacart
This is the newest favorite factor that will make you like Aldi more: They have recently collaborated with Instacart to provide a home delivery service.
Although the delivery service is not available at all locations, it is novel and will eventually be perpetuated in several locations. You can find more information about this service on their website.
There might be some flaws—who doesn’t? But overall, I genuinely like the thought and idea behind Aldi. I don’t shop all my groceries at Aldi because I like certain products from other brands, but I certainly visit Aldi the most because of all the reasons mentioned above.
How was your first experience at Aldi? Let me know in the comments.
